Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipstick Review
Packaging
The MatteLast Liquid Lip comes in a cute tube with squared edges, which I personally love because tubes with rounded edges always run away! Are liquid lipstick containers even called tubes? Well, you know what I mean, right? 🙂
The tube is accented with Pixi’s signature pale green that is instantly recognizable in the beauty industry.
Side note: I love when brands do that. Most brands do have some sort of branding to all of their products, but some brands do it better than others. Pixi Beauty does very well in this area. With all of their products, you can instantly tell it’s a Pixi product.
Applicator and Application
I LOVE this applicator. It’s so much better than the traditional doe foot applicator because it has a pointed tip!
I’m sure we all know the sadness that washes over your entire body when the rest of your makeup is perfect, but you make a mistake at the very end when applying lipstick.
The pointed tip on this applicator makes it so much easier to get a precise application. And especially if you’re not a seasoned liquid lipstick wearer, this applicator will definitely help you out.
Formula
I’m normally not the biggest fan of most matte liquid lipsticks because they tend to be drying and uncomfortable to wear. However, the formula of the Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip threw those opinions out the window!
When first applying it, it goes on so smoothly and has almost a mousse-like consistency. It is infused with rosehip oil which allows it to be very soft and comfortable even after it dries.
It doesn’t dry down to a dry matte finish that settles down into the lines of your lips. Rather, it dries down to a soft matte finish that is flexible and won’t crack even when you laugh!
Opacity
YO these lippies are pigmented. I was really surprised when I first tried them out at how opaque they are with just one layer! You really only need one layer to have a fully opaque color on your lips.
Also impressive was how smoothly they all apply with just one swipe. There is definitely no need to go back and touch up sheer areas with this formula!
The only shade that didn’t go on as evenly in one swipe was Berry Boost. It has a much sheerer opacity and I think it would actually work well as more of a stain.
Just apply a few dots to your lips and tap it with your finger to blend it out. I like to work with this shade in this way so I’m not constantly trying to get an even, opaque layer. (See swatch below.)
Longevity
These lipsticks have some real staying power! They last for HOURS on the lips, even with eating and drinking.
Of course, they’ll naturally wear off after a while, but it seems like the pigment stays. It might just be me because my lips stain very easily, but I swear it seems like there is still color on my lips even after I know it has worn off.
Don’t worry about it actually staining your lips, though – it comes off easily with makeup remover.
MatteLast Liquid Lip Shades and Swatches

Overall Thoughts
YOU NEED THIS. The formula is so comfortable to wear and there are so many great shades to choose from! You definitely won’t be disappointed with this liquid lipstick. I haven’t tried any that I like more!
Pixi Beauty is overall a great brand and I totally recommend checking them out if you haven’t already! My two favorite products from Pixi are the Glossamer Duo in Subtle Sunrise and the Eye Define Waterline Pencil. I use those two products almost every day!
And that’s it for my review of the Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip! Have you tried this lipstick? What do you think? What’s your favorite shade? Be sure to let me know down in the comments. 🙂
