For those of you who know me personally, you know that when I first decided on moving to Japan, I’d joke (well, maybe I was about 50% joking…maybe 75%) that I was going to find a Japanese husband and live here forever. Whenever someone posed the question, “Why are you moving to Japan?” my immediate response was, “To find a husband.” Honestly. That’s what I’d say. And it caused a good chuckle.
Hanami (花見) in Japan
Sakura (cherry blossoms) have just begun to bloom in Japan! And you know what that means…? I finally did some Japanese shit in Japan.
Korea: Misc photos & thoughts
My trip to Korea was definitely way too short. I was only there for 4 days and while I didn’t venture anywhere other than Seoul, that was not nearly enough time to even cover Seoul.
Korea Day 3: Itaewon
Itaewon is like foreigner town. Totally foreigner town. It was weird hearing so much English around!
Korea Day 3: Myeongdong
On our third day (and last for my cuzzy) in Korea, Myeongdong (명동) was our first stop! With the little research on Korea that I did before our trip, I had imagined Myeongdong to be like Shibuya in Japan (or maybe Shinjuku), just as I had compared Apgujeong to Ginza in my mind.
Korea Day 2: Ewha Women’s University/Sinchon
After Hongdae, we headed over to Ewha’s Women’s University (이화여자대학교). The area is super popular for shopping, with tons of affordable fashion stores catered towards the young crowd. All of the streets are lined with clothes, shoes, accessories, cafes, hair salons, nail salons, and food!
Korea Day 2: Hongdae
Hongdae. HONGDAE. 홍대. This is my spot. Totally my kind of place to kick it at. There is food everywhere. There are bars everywhere. There is great shopping. There are street performers. Seriously, never a dull moment at this place.
Korea Day 2: Dongdaemun Gwangjang Market
On our second day in Korea, we headed over to Dongdaemun Market (동대문시장), which is Korea’s largest wholesale and retail shopping district.
Korea Day 1: Gangnam
Check out what I did in Gangnam during my trip to Korea! Find out things to do in Gangnam, Seoul!
Korea Day 1: Common Ground
On our very first full day in Korea, we went on a mission to find this super sick shopping center made completely out of shipping containers. Common Ground is Korea’s first shopping center of it’s kind, designed by Kolon FnC, located in the Gwangjin district of Seoul.
