Hi, guys! Can you believe it’s already June?! I feel like I was just celebrating the New Year in Tokyo and now the year is almost half way through! I hope all of you are having a great year so far! I’ve recently been trying out a lot of new products, as well as using products that I haven’t used in a while, so I decided to start doing blogs to round up my monthly favorites! I love reading ‘favorites’ blogs from other bloggers and I find it’s a great way to help decide what new products I want to try. So hopefully, this post is helpful in the same way to you all! Please enjoy. 🙂
I used to use this perfume during my last year of college but switched over to Chanel Chance Eau Tendre de Toillete while I was in Japan. Chanel Chance is a much softer scent and was more appropriate for my job there. Now that I’m back in Maui, I switched back over and now I remember why I used to love this scent so much! I’m a huge fan of floral fruity scents and this one is exactly that. As the first ever fragrance by Tory Burch, it is described as “floral peony and tuberose blend with crisp citrus notes of grapefruit and neroli anchored by earthy vetiver—a bright and complex mix.” It’s absolutely perfect for me and I often get asked what perfume I’m wearing when I have it on. A little goes a long way, so I have to be careful not to go spray happy with it.
After spending about a month using the Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer (read my review here), I decided to go back to this primer because it’s so goooood. It’s the most moisturizing primer I’ve ever used. I know I could just use a moisturizer before primer (and maybe that’s the right way to do it), but this product is like killing two birds with one stone! Moisturize and prime in one step! And I liiiiive for the smell, it totally smells like grapefruit and some people hate it but I loooove it. I won’t go into much more on this product because I’ve done a full review here, but I will say that I definitely recommend!
I got this cute little sample size of the POREfessional primer in my last sephora order and being that it’s a product that has been raved about for a long time, I’m surprised I’ve never tried it before. I’ve never used a pore minimizing primer before and I have no idea why because ya girl sure as hell has some pores that need minimizing. I use this primer on areas like my t-zone and cheeks, where my pores are most noticeable, and I apply it after the Bobbi Brown primer. After the first day I wore it, I was sold! The sample size lasted me over a week and my foundation has never looked smoother than during that week. Full size tube already ordered and on its way to me!
Pretty much the entire makeup community has been buzzing about these glitter shadows recently. I first saw them used on ma boy, Manny Mua’s channel and he noted how effortless it was to apply, which intrigued me. I’ve always shied away from using glitters, partly because I didn’t want to go through the effort of using glitter glue and loose glitter, there’s often a lot of fallout, and it just gets messy. But, I don’t have to deal with any of that with this glitter eyeshadow! It goes on so easily with that little doe foot applicator, dries super quickly, doesn’t crease (well, I always prime my eyelids with concealer so that probably helps), and it doesn’t have any fallout – unless you try to brush some away then glitter gets everywhere. I have the shade Kitten Karma, which is an absolutely beautiful champagne gold color, and I’m definitely going to buy more!
I’ve been absolutely loving this palette during May. I’m a huge fan of warm toned shadows and this is like THE warm tone palette of the century. It practically broke the internet when it was released last year! I couldn’t even get it when it first launched and had to wait until it was restocked. As you can see from the photo, this palette has gotten some loooove (even though I haven’t taken off the plastic mirror cover thingy yet). My go-to eye look for last month was a warm deep red-brown in the crease and outer corner with a subtle shimmer lid, and that can be done entirely with just this palette. Maybe not much of a spring look, but that’s how I rolled last month. All of the shadows are sooo creamy, blendable and just amazinggg.
This cleansing oil has been such a game changer in my makeup removing routine! It’s such a gentle oil that removes makeup so well, it makes me wonder how they made it. I won’t say much more about it because I’ve done a full review on it here, but I will say that this is the best makeup remover/cleanser I’ve ever used.
And that’s it, guys! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it! I’ll keep trying out new products so hopefully I have some new favorites to talk about next month. Until next time. <3
Also, any time you are planning on making an online purchase, don’t forget to use Ebates! Use Ebates every time you order something online so you can get a bit of your money back! (Some stores even offer in-store cash back.) Sephora, Ulta, and many more makeup stores participate in Ebates. I’ve made over $400 in cash back from Ebates since I started under 2 years ago and I literally only buy makeup LOL so if you’re not using it, you’re totally missing out! I wrote a review on Ebates when I first started using it here.
