Hello, friends! I recently made a trip to Target and picked up some goodies! Who else loves going to Target?! I swear I could spend hours looking at all the cute stuff in there. I didn’t pick up a ton of stuff while I was there, especially because I think Walmart has better prices and Walgreens has better sales, but I had a gift card from my brother to use – thanks bubs! This post is going to be focused on just face products – I got a handful of things I’m really excited to try out! Even though I’ve been exploring the drugstore products a lot more recently, I’m still pretty picky with face products and there’s a part of me that still thinks face products are worth the splurge to get high-end product because there can be a huge difference in quality. Hopefully these products can help to change my mind!
Without further ado, let’s get into the products!
This powder is supposed to be a dupe for the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder and that powder is like my holy grail of all setting powders so we’ll see if this one works just as well. It’ll obviously be a bit different since it’s a pressed powder and not a loose powder, but I’m hoping the finish is similar and the longevity of wear is close. It’ll be great if this powder turns out to be a dupe because I sure could save a few dollars! I love that it comes with a sponge that is stored under the powder – it’s just so much more hygienic that way! And the mirror under there is great, too. I have a feeling this powder will just permanently stay in my purse for touch-ups.
This concealer is supposed to be a dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which I have been using daily for almost two years. (FYI: Light is really close to the NARS shade Custard and Fair is really close to the shade Vanilla.) Concealer is a product I go through really quickly, with all the highlighting I do and all the concealing I need (boooo acne scars), so it’ll be great to find something more affordable. Fingers really crossed on this one!
This concealer is supposed to be a dupe for the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiance Perfecting Pen. However, I didn’t buy it for that reason because I’ve never tried the YSL pen. I bought this because it was on a ridiculous sale! I don’t know if the specific shade I got is being discontinued because it’s barely available online (only Bed, Bath & Beyond and CVS has it in stock) and it was on sale for a lower price than the other shades. I got it for under $3!!
Seems like this haul is a Maybelline haul, huh? Totally unintended, I promise! I didn’t even realize it until I gathered all of the products and started writing this! Anyway, this concealer is supposed to be a dupe for the Benefit POREfessional Face Primer, which I absolutely loooove (it’s in my May Favorites) and I’ve heard really good things about it. I opened the tube and it definitely does not look like the POREfessional – it’s clear and feels a lot more slippery, so I’m not sure if this one will be a dupe. Hoping it will be a decent primer anyway, though!
Not a Maybelline product! But, this is the only one that isn’t LOL. This spray is supposed to be a dupe for the MAC Fix+ spray, which I have used before, albeit a looong time ago. I wasn’t really looking for a setting spray, but more of a spray to wet my brush when using eyeshadow, instead of just using water, and to use as a primer water. I remember the Fix+ spray being perfect for that, so I thought I’d try this product out since it’s considered a dupe. And the price tag doesn’t hurt! $2.99!! Can’t beat that.
And that’s it for the face products! I’ll be doing another post for the lip and eye products I picked up. Also, since all of these products are considered to be dupes, I’ll be doing a post on whether or not I agree (for the dupes of the high-end versions that I’ve tried). Hope you all enjoyed and thanks for reading! <3
Also, any time you are planning on making an online purchase, don’t forget to use Ebates! Use Ebates every time you order something online so you can get a bit of your money back! (Some stores even offer in-store cash back.) Sephora, Ulta, and many more makeup stores participate in Ebates. I’ve made over $400 in cash back from Ebates since I started under 2 years ago and I literally only buy makeup LOL so if you’re not using it, you’re totally missing out! I wrote a review on Ebates when I first started using it here.
