Hi, friends! As a continuation of my drugstore haul for face products that I posted a few days ago, today’s post will be about the eye and lip products that I picked up on my run to Target last week. I only got four products for this post, so it’s a super mini haul! I’m still learning when it comes to lip products – I’ve never been a lipstick girl! So, I’m still learning what I like, what looks best for my skin tone and on top of my natural lip color, and how to choose colors from just looking at the tube. I hate that you can’t swatch everything in drugstores! Although, I am glad that every tube isn’t open for everyone to test out. I’m just used to having one tester tube available to swatch and sealed products behind it to purchase. Can’t have it all, I guess! But, I’ve bought so many things from drugstores that were the wrong color for me and that is so frustrating!
But, without further ado, let’s get to the products!
It’s been said that this new mascara takes the crown as best drugstore mascara and maybe even best mascara period! It’s highly regarded as a dupe for the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara and I can see why! The shape of the tube, the color of the tube, and even the shape of the brush are all VERY similar. I’ve used the Too Faced mascara a lot in the past, so I’m super curious to see how this mascara compares.
A good friend of mine shared an article with me that claimed this is the best nude lipstick around. She also gave me her own recommendation and I trust her! I haven’t found a nude shade that I really like yet, so I’m hoping this one works out for me! Just from the swatch, it seems a bit beige for my liking, but I won’t knock it until I try it! I love how soft and creamy it felt during the swatch, I imagine it will be super comfortable to wear. And it smells so yummy!
While perusing Pinterest, I saw this product floating around numerous times as one of the best drugstore gloss lip products. I love my gloss! I’m more inclined to wear lip products with a glossy or satin finish than a matte finish (even though I’ve been buying a lot of matte lippies – they’ve been all the rage and I want to be cool, too!). I just like a somewhat shiny finish to my lips. It makes them look more luscioussss (I think so anyway). I chose this shade because it looked like a pinkish nude (even though the NYX website says it’s brown *shrugs*), and I thought it would be a safe color for me. I loved how creamy it felt during the swatch, it’s not a sticky gloss – I guess that’s why it’s named Butter Gloss! It’s smooth like buttahhh. And this one smells super yummy, too!
This is supposed to be a dupe for Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. The color, that is, not the formula or anything like that – it’s like a crayon type of applicator which is obviously not a liquid. I don’t own the Kat Von D lipstick, but I do know that Lolita is one of the most popular shades. I figured this would be a good product to test if I even like the color before investing in the Kat Von D lipstick. And it only costs $3!! My goodness, how does e.l.f. do it?!
And that’s all for this haul! It was a tiny one, but I’m super excited to try each one of these products. I’m always on the search for great affordable products, so please give me your recommendations! Thank you all for reading. <3
Also, any time you are planning on making an online purchase, don’t forget to use Ebates! Use Ebates every time you order something online so you can get a bit of your money back! (Some stores even offer in-store cash back.) Sephora, Ulta, and many more makeup stores participate in Ebates. I’ve made over $400 in cash back from Ebates since I started under 2 years ago and I literally only buy makeup LOL so if you’re not using it, you’re totally missing out! I wrote a review on Ebates when I first started using it here.
