Hi, everyone! It’s been a while since my last post, but I’ve been sooo busy redesigning my blog and moving it over to Squarespace. (Let me know what you think of it in the comments!)
Recently, BH Cosmetics had an awesome sale on their website with things up to 33% off. I got a bunch of palettes because the sale was so good and BH Cosmetics is already so affordable. This is my first time trying out any products from BH, and I have to say, I am definitely impressed! All of their products are cruelty-free and some are vegan. This palette is vegan!
For today’s post, I’ll be focusing on the Solar Flare Palette. Look at how gorgeous it is! In the palette, you get 18 baked eyeshadows, which are all shimmers.
On the box it reads:
“Add dazzling dimension to your eyes with our versatile Solar Flare 18 Color Baked Eyeshadow Palette, a brilliant collection of sunlit, super-concentrated, warm-toned shades. Apply dry for a traditional wash of color, or with a dampened brush to achieve maximum intensity.”
Without further ado, here are the swatches!
Top row: Beam, Sunray, Heat, Wavelength, Fireball, Antigravity
Middle row: Orb, Burst, Energy, Galactic, Impact, Gamma Ray
Bottom row: Pulsar, Spectrum, Chromosphere, Photosphere, Ozone, Magnetic
I am absolutely loving those shade names! It definitely matches the name of the palette.
Upon first swatch of the shadows, I was soooo shocked by the pigment and smoothness of the shadows. Apparently, baking the shadow instead of pressing them allows a super smooth application. This was my first time trying baked eyeshadows and I was impressed!
A few of the shades look very similar in the photos, like Chromosphere and Photosphere (middle two in bottom row), but Photosphere is actually like a duo-chrome shade with a greenish flip. It’s so cool!
The shades definitely blend out a lot softer than they appear in the swatches, which makes it more versatile for everyday use. I did a quick eyeshadow look using only this palette (you can use all shimmers in a look!):
Outer corner: Gamma Ray
Lid: Photosphere (applied wet)
Brow Highlight: Beam
The photo was taken with the front-facing camera of my phone so the colors didn’t show up that well, but it was definitely more bold and shimmery in person!
I’ve only tried out the palette once, but I’m totally loving it so far! I think all of the shades are super fun and will look beautiful all over the lid.
And that’s it for this post, guys! I’d love to hear what you think of this palette and if you already have it, I’d love to see any looks you’ve created with it!
Until next time. <3
