Best Makeup and Beauty Products of February 2020
It’s so hard to believe it’s already March! Another month gone means it’s time for another monthly beauty favorites post!
February definitely went by in a flash for me as I’ve been super busy at work and I had a mini vacation at the end of the month to attend a friend’s wedding on Oahu.
In addition to barely having any time to really play with new makeup, post-holiday savings is real LOL.
I spent so much money during the holiday season that I’ve been trying to be more mindful with my purchasing decisions.
However, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been able to try ANY new makeup or beauty products because that just wouldn’t be me.
And of the few products that I was able to try in February, I definitely found some winners that I’m excited to share with you!
So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Best Makeup and Skin Care – February 2020 Favorites

Fresh – Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer

c/o Fresh via Octoly
It’s never too early to start thinking about anti-aging properties in skincare, right?!
As I’m just a few years shy of 30, ways to prevent fine lines and wrinkles (although they are inevitable) is definitely on my mind.
And that’s why the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer is the perfect moisturizer for me at this time of my life!
I’ve had a few favorite moisturizers in the recent months, but something about the new year just made me think about anti-aging LOL.
This moisturizer includes Super Lotus, which prevents and addresses the first signs of aging by boosting radiance, strengthening the skin’s barrier, and protecting the skin from free radicals.
It also includes Star Fruit Leaf Extract, which smooths the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
(UM YES. Sign me up for that!)
And last, but definitely not least, it include hyaluronic acid to increase moisture in the skin, which is a must-have ingredient for someone with dry skin, like me.
Despite it being a cream formula, it still feels lightweight on the skin and doesn’t ever feel like it’s clogging my pores.
However, at the same time, it really creates a sensation that my skin is soaking up moisture from the cream.
The description says it can be used by those with normal, dry, combination, and oily skin, but I think it might be a bit too heavy for those with oily skin.
I apply it during my nighttime routine and can still feel it on my skin when I wake up, so I’m not sure it would be the best for someone with oily skin.

Artist Couture – Diamond Luxe Luminizer Pressed Highlighter
in Haute Damn

I bought the Artist Couture Diamond Luxe Luminizer because I absolutely fell in love with the Diamond Glow Powder a few months ago, but wanted something easier and less messy to apply, especially while traveling.
Thinking this would be pretty much the pressed powder version of the loose highlighter, I was VERY excited to try it out.
I will admit that I was slightly underwhelmed when I first tried it, as it didn’t have the instant glow that the loose highlighter does.
BUT, as soon as a worked my way through the initial top layer of it, its beauty emerged.
Haute Damn is a gorgeous champagne shade, which is my go-to for my skin tone and perfect for everyday wear.
It definitely is not as blinding as the Diamond Glow Powder, but that makes it very appropriate to wear to work every day (the loose highlighter is a little crazy for everyday wear, but that doesn’t stop me LOL) and you can totally build it up to a more blinding level.
I also would like to point out that the formula is a bit powdery and glittery, so if you don’t like glitter flecks in your highlighter, this may not be the one for you!
Personally, I don’t mind having a bit of fallout because it’s easy to wipe away, but that’s definitely your call.

Laniege – Lip Sleeping Mask
in Vanilla

c/o Laneige via Octoly
If you haven’t heard any of the hype that is surrounding Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask, I think it’s safe to say you’ve been living under a rock!
So many people have been raving about this lip mask for a while now, so I figured it’s about time I gave it a shot!
I actually bought the Original Berry Flavor for my mom a while back and she likes it, so I already knew I was going to enjoy it!
Especially after my recent trip to Australia (dry heat), my lips felt really dry and would occasionally peel in some areas. But, this lip sleeping mask fixed it so easily!
It even made me wonder why I waited so long to try it! Every single time I use it, without fail, my lips feel soft and smooth the next morning.

Stila – Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow
in Dollish (pink sparkle)

The Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows are no stranger to my blog as I’ve mentioned them many times in many posts.
But, this is a new shade for me!
I recently had a 20% off coupon for Ulta and I went a little crazy with these shadows.
I bought a handful of different shades and Dollish has been my favorite one in the last month.
These Stila shadows never disappoint in terms of how well they apply and how long they last on the eyelid, and this shade is no different!
It applies smoothly, evenly, and it lasts all day long with minimal fading and fallout.
Dollish is a super cute peachy pink shade with gold glitter and it’s the perfect shade for Spring!
I’ve been wearing it as a lid shade in a lot of different looks recently and it’s surprisingly super versatile. Even with a super dark smoky look, this shade works!
(At the time of writing, Dollish is not available on Sephora online, but other shades are!)

ColourPop – Double Entendre Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is an old favorite of mine and after realizing I never mentioned it in any of my favorites posts, I HAD to include it this month because I still use it all the time!
I’ve had the palette for almost two years and it’s still one of my go-tos for an everyday warm neutral palette.
Whenever I’m packing for a trip, this palette is always the first palette that gets put into my makeup bag.
It includes enough shades with different finishes to create numerous different eyeshadow looks, so it’s also a great palette to start off with if you’re just starting to wear eyeshadow.
And the best part is that it’s super affordable for what you get. $18 for 12 shades and it lasted me almost 2 years! Definitely worth it.
