Best Long-Lasting Sweat Proof Drugstore Foundations for Summer – Perfect for Hot and Humid Weather
Don’t you just hate when you’ve spent a ton of time on your makeup in the morning, you’re looking your best, feeling yourself, then you step outside during a hot and humid summer day and your makeup feels like it’s going to melt off your face?!
I feel you. We’ve all been there.
Since summer is right around the corner, I thought it would be a great idea to put together a little post of my favorite long-lasting, sweat-proof, matte drugstore foundations that are perfect for the summer heat!
We’re all looking for a foundation that’ll last all day, especially in the hot summer, and these foundations are definitely my go-to when the heat just won’t quit.
If you ever wondered, “What is the best sweat-proof drugstore foundation?” or, “What is the best long-lasting drugstore foundation?,” look no further! This post is for you.
A little disclaimer: Foundations always last longer with a good primer and setting powder and I use both every day with any foundation I use. Although the foundations in this post are long-wearing in their own right, they will no doubt last much longer with primer and setting powder. My opinions of these foundations are with the use of primer and setting powder.

Long-Wear Matte Drugstore Foundations for Hot and Humid Weather
L’Oreal Paris – Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation
This foundation is SO GOOD. If you’re looking for a full-coverage matte foundation that’ll give you a flawless finish and is super long-lasting, it’s this one.
I just wore it yesterday after not wearing it for a while and I was shocked with how good my foundation looked at the end of the day.
It looked almost like I just put it on without a single touch-up throughout the day – no joke. I had just a tad bit of shine on my nose, but that’s totally normal for me and compared to most foundations, this one controls shine like a champ.
I don’t experience much creasing or settling into fine lines with this foundation. And I don’t see a ton of separation around my nose throughout the day, which is a very normal thing that happens to me.
I also don’t experience any fading of this foundation at all. It’s still full-coverage AF by the end of the day. This foundation stays put!
The only drawback of this foundation is how heavy it feels on the skin. The formula is on the thick side and you can definitely feel it on the skin.
By the end of the day, it definitely feels like my makeup is caked on and I can’t wait to get it off.
However, the way it looks by the end of the day is still pretty flawless, so I can deal with it feeling a little heavy.
Revlon – Colorstay Foundation
This is a more recent foundation for me, but I can say that from the very first time I tried it, I loved it.
It’s a lightweight natural finish foundation that really glides on smoothly and blends out effortlessly.
I’d say it’s medium-coverage, but buildable to full-coverage. You can definitely get more of a natural look with this foundation if you want.
The Colorstay Foundation comes in two formulas – one for Normal/Dry skin and one for Combination/Oily skin. I got the formula for normal/dry skin because my face is pretty normal, but can get dry in some areas.
The normal/dry skin formula has more of a natural finish and is supposed to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. I will say that any foundation becomes pretty matte if you set it with loose powder, though.
But, you won’t get that super powdery look that you can sometimes get when you set a really matte foundation with loose powder.
The combination/oily formula has more of a matte finish and is supposed to control shine throughout the day. While I haven’t tried this formula, I’ve heard it works really well for oily skin.
This foundation is definitely a foundation I can be comfortable wearing all-day and even on long, hot, and humid summer days.
The lightweight formula really makes it easy to wear and I don’t have to worry about it fading, creasing, settling in lines, or gathering in any area.
I might experience a bit of shine on and around my nose by the end of the day, but that’s not anything that a little blot won’t fix! It’s really one of the most comfortable foundations to wear.
Maybelline – 24 HR SuperStay Full Coverage Foundation
This foundation is one of Maybelline’s best and most popular foundations – and for good reason!
Since I bought this foundation, I find myself gravitating to this foundation really often because it gives the most beautiful finish ever.
I’d say it’s a natural matte formula – matte, but definitely not super matte. It’s definitely a full-coverage foundation that will cover any imperfections you may want to hide. (It’s more full-coverage than the FitMe! Foundation.)
I will get a bit shinier with this foundation throughout the day than I will with the other two in this post, but it’s not a gross-looking oily mess with the oil causing it to separate in areas. Definitely not that.
It’s more of a really natural, radiant finish and it still looks really good – think “healthy glow.” But if you don’t like that look, you can combat the shine with little touch-ups throughout the day.
With my usual routine of using a primer before application and with setting the foundation with loose powder, this foundation is very long-wearing as it stays in place all day.
Similar to the foundations I mentioned above, I don’t have any problems with it fading, creasing, settling into lines, or gathering in areas.
The formula is on the thicker side, but it feels really lightweight on the skin. Even as the day goes on, it doesn’t start to feel heavy or cakey at all. It’s really comfortable to wear all day.
And that’s it for my list of the best sweat-proof, long -lasting drugstore foundations to get you through the hot and humid summer!
There really are so many solid foundations at the drugstore these days, so it was difficult to narrow it down to just three. But, if you’re like me, sometimes too many options and too much information can make it more difficult to choose one!
So for that reason, I narrowed it down the absolute TOP 3 drugstore foundations that I use on a regular basis, especially in the summer when the heat just won’t quit!.
I know this is a summer post, but since I live in Hawaii, it’s pretty much summer all year long! These foundations are definitely in my foundation rotation throughout the entire year because there really isn’t a drastic change in seasons here.
If you live in a tropical humid place, these would totally work for you all year long, not just in the summer. 🙂
I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of these foundations and if you have, what did you think of them? Do you have any other go-to foundations that you think should be in my top 3?
Let me know in the comments! I’m always looking for different products to try!
