Best Makeup and Skincare of July 2019
Another month has passed, which means it is time for another Monthly Favorites post!
I spent most of July out of the country and just got back home a few days ago, so I couldn’t try out very many new beauty products over the last month.
However, even though I didn’t try out a ton of new products in July, I still have a handful of amazing makeup and skincare products to share with you!
Most of the products on this list are new to me and this blog, but one product is something that I’ve had for a long time! I rediscovered my love for it during my trip!
This list will be a short one, so be sure to check out my Mid-Year 2019 Favorites posts for mega lists on all the products I’ve been loving so far this year!
So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Best Makeup and Skincare – July 2019 Favorites

Caudalie – Beauty Elixir

I’ll be honest with you – when it comes to actually setting makeup in place and extending the wear of makeup, I’ve never seen a ton of difference between all of the setting sprays I’ve tried.
There are a few that do a better job than others, but I’ve never experienced a setting spray that blows the rest of the competition out of the water.
And the Caudalie Beauty Elixir is no different – it isn’t especially amazing regarding setting makeup in place and extending the wear of makeup.
HOWEVER, there are other reasons this spray stands out amongst the crowd, and those reasons are why it made my favorites list!
It’s so much more than just a setting spray. In fact, my favorite way to use it is not even as a setting spray!
The Beauty Elixir is infused with toning rosemary, astringent mint, and soothing rose essential oils, which gives it a super calming, yet uplifting scent.
Before I apply makeup primer, I like to give a light spritz to my skin with this spray and lightly pat it in with my fingers for a refreshing “wake-me-up” in the mornings.
Because of the toning and soothing essential oils its infused with, the Beauty Elixir preps the skin for makeup beautifully.
(I’m really bad about morning skin care before makeup, so this is my quick version of a morning skin care routine!)
While I was on my trip, I took a mini-sized bottle of the Beauty Elixir to keep in my purse through out the day.
A midday spritz is the perfect way to freshen up your makeup, give yourself a radiant glow, and it feels amazing!
Laneige – Water Bank Moisture Cream

Three words: Holy. Grail. Moisturizer.
I have fairly dry skin and I sometimes suffer from dry itchy patches, especially around my eyes.
Over the years, I’ve tried out a lot of great moisturizers, but none of them have ever given me as much hydration as this one does.
The consistency is a rich cream that you can tell is made to make hydration last. When I tried it for the very first time, I even thought to myself, “this feels like it’s going to stay!”
There are often times when a moisturizer feels great upon application, but shortly after, it feels like it disappeared! Not with the Water Bank Moisture Cream, though!
And even though it is a moisture-packed rich cream, it never feels heavy on the skin. You know how super thick creams can make your skin feel like it’s suffocating? You don’t get that feeling with this cream.
If you have oily skin and a cream moisturizer is too heavy for you, there is a gel version of this cream: Water Bank Hydro Gel
P.S. Laneige is a Korean Beauty brand and my trip was to Japan and Korea, so you know I picked up more Laneige products! 😉
Dior – Lip Glow

In Pink Glow
If you’ve been following this blog for a bit now, you know that my favorite type of lip product is lip balm!
I’ve never been a big lipstick wearer, with the exception of special occasions. But, on a regular basis, my favorite thing to do is just throw on a natural-looking balm and keep it in my purse for reapplication.
I just love the ease of application with a lip balm! I don’t have perfectly even or perfectly shaped lips, so I feel like my lips NEED a lip liner to perfect things when wearing lipstick.
And I just can’t be bothered applying lip liner and lipstick every day. There’s also the constant worry of lipstick smudging, getting on my teeth, and looking patchy.
Ya girl would rather just not deal with all of that LOL. That’s why I love lip balms! Easy to apply and reapply, even without a mirror!
I bought the Dior Lip Glow a few months ago during the Sephora Spring Sale, and even though it’s a fan-favorite that I’ve been dying to try for a while, I just didn’t get around to it until I went on my trip!
The very first time I applied it, I instantly fell in love. I can see why so many people love it!
It applies so smoothly, has the perfect amount of sheen where it still looks natural and not too glossy, and the moisture lasts so long!
I took a few lip balms on my trip, but I didn’t even touch any of the others. The Dior Lip Glow is the ONLY lip product I used during my trip. That’s how good it is.

ColourPop – Give It To Me Straight Eyeshadow Palette

With this palette, I’m doing something that I normally don’t do in my monthly favorites list – I’m bringing back an old(ish) product!
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned the ColourPop Give It To Me Straight palette on this blog before, even though I first tried it ages ago. But, that’s because I never really gave it a good go.
When I first got it, I had a ton of new eyeshadow palettes to try out and this one kind of got pushed to the side.
By just looking at the palette, nothing really screams out as exciting. Sure, it’s beautiful. It includes gorgeous shades of different finishes.
But, there’s nothing really creative or interesting about it, right?
However, that’s what makes this palette great. It’s predictable. It’s pretty. ColourPop makes great shadows, so the quality is amazing.
And you have everything you need in one palette to create multiple looks. You just know what you’re going to get with this palette. A gorgeous eye look every time!
It may not be the most exciting or creative look, but it’ll sure be pretty! And sometimes, we need that security!
Especially while traveling, more often than not, you don’t want to spend too much time deciding what to do with your makeup every morning.
A predictable, but dependable and beautiful palette is going to win every time!
I took this palette and the ColourPop Double Entendre palette on my trip. I did switch between the two, but I found myself reaching for this palette much more.
You can never go wrong with a warm burgundy look!

And that’s it for my favorite makeup and skincare products of July!
I know it was a short list, but I already have a bunch of new products I’m testing this month, so hopefully my next favorites post will have more amazing products!
Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think of them! And if you haven’t, did this list make you want to give any of these products a shot?
Be sure to leave me your thoughts down in the comments!
